How to deal with the sudden fire of the heating tube during use?

Jul 08, 2021

In the use of industrial heating equipment, the heating tube is one of the most ideal and cost-effective choices. However, negligence in the process of operation or purchase inspection will cause problems in normal operation. The heating tube suddenly catches fire during use, how can we deal with it effectively and correctly?

Many customers will say that the first thing we need to do is to turn off the power. Yes, this method is correct and feasible, but in some special circumstances where the power cannot be turned off immediately, what to do is worthwhile. Questions to think about.

JINBAO HEATING PRODUCTS FACTORY BORIS believes that these methods can be used when encountering such special events and special circumstances:

1. Water spray gun should be used when extinguishing fire with water gun. The leakage current flowing through the water column of the spray water gun is very small, and it is safer to put out a fire with electricity. When using a common DC water gun to extinguish the fire, in order to prevent the risk of electric shock, the water gun nozzle should be grounded (connected to the grounding body buried in the ground, or connected to the metal grounding grid on the ground, or connected to the network made of thick copper wire Belt); fire extinguishers wear equalizing suits or wear insulating gloves, and wear insulating boots.

2. Select and use fire extinguishers correctly. Commonly used fire extinguishers are carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, dry powder fire extinguishers, halogenated alkane fire extinguishers and foam fire extinguishers. When the two aqueous solutions are mixed, a chemical reaction occurs to generate a large amount of foam, which constitutes a fire extinguishing agent and a pressure source. When in use, at a distance of 8-10m from the fire source, turn the fire extinguisher upside down, point the nozzle at the fire source, and then spray the fire extinguishing agent to extinguish the fire. Foam has a certain degree of conductivity and cannot be used for live fire extinguishing (foam is harmful to electrical insulation and should not be used for fire extinguishing of electrical equipment that has been powered off). It is not suitable for fire extinguishing of water-soluble liquids such as alcohol, aldehyde, ether, ketone, etc. When not in use, it should be placed in a cool, dry, ventilated, and easily accessible place; high temperature should be avoided to prevent the sun, and anti-freezing should be paid attention to in winter; the nozzle should be frequently dredged. Regularly check whether the fire extinguisher has expired and whether it can be used normally.

3. The safe distance from the heating pipe must be strictly controlled when extinguishing the fire; the low-voltage charged body should not be less than 0.1M, the 10KW charged body should not be less than 0.4M, and the 35KW charged body should not be less than 0.6M.

Of course, specific problems need to be analyzed in detail, and we do not want or want to see such things happen. In fact, avoiding such things is nothing more than cautious operation and the most important thing is that the quality of the purchased heating tube must pass. Inferior products are always a black sheep and always a time bomb. The quality of the heating tube has a direct relationship with the manufacturer, and care must be taken in the selection of the product.
