A customer asked me a few days ago, can a 220v electric heating tube be connected to a 380v voltage?
To address this issue today, let's talk about the wiring method of the electric heating tube, please look down.
[solution]
There are four main wiring methods for the wiring of the electric heating tube, which are series, parallel, star connection and delta connection. Let's talk about the difference between these wiring methods.
Series connection
The series connection is to connect the electric heating tube end to end as shown in the figure above
The main characteristics of the series circuit are:
The currents in all electric heating tubes in series are equal, I total = L1 = L2 = L3 =... = Ln.
The total voltage after series connection is the sum of the terminal voltages of all electric heating tubes, U total=U1+U2+U3+……+Un.
Parallel connection
Parallel connection is a connection method in which the electric heating tube is connected first to the first, and the end to the end is also connected as shown in the figure above.
The main characteristics of the parallel circuit are:
The voltage of all parallel electric heating tubes is equal to the power supply voltage.
The total current of the parallel circuit is the sum of the currents of all electric heating tubes.
Star/wye connection
The star connection method is also called the Y-shaped connection method. The connection method is as shown in the figure. First, connect one section of each electric heating tube, and then lead three live wires from the other end.
It should be noted that if the number of electric heating tubes is large, they need to be grouped and connected in parallel first, and the number of electric heating tubes needs to be a multiple of 3.
Refer to the figure below;

Delta connection
As shown in the figure, the electric heating tubes are connected end to end in turn, and each connected point is led out as the three phase wires of the three-phase electricity.
Like the star connection method, if there are a large number of electric heating tubes, you need to group them in parallel and then wire them, and the number of electric heating tubes needs to be a multiple of 3.
Refer to the figure below;
Tips:
The phase voltage of the delta connection method = total voltage.
Phase voltage of star/Y connection method = total voltage/root number 3
With delta connection and star/Y connection method, the number of electric heating tubes needs to be a multiple of 3
Through the above understanding of the wiring method of the electric heating tube, I believe that everyone will be able to answer this customer's doubts.
