The work of the generator set in the power plant continues, and long-term work will generate a large amount of heat energy. If cooling is not carried out, the temperature will continue to rise, and it needs to be used in the cooling water system. Many people do not understand that the cooling water system also needs electric heat tracing? At present, most power plants in China use cooling water system as a way of heat circulation exchange. Therefore, it is also called a cooling system. By circulating the water, the higher heat is taken away, which plays a role in heat dissipation. At this time, the circulating water has a temperature, and it is common sense that electric heat tracing is not required.

So, why should the cooling water system need electric heat tracing? According to the specific elements of the power plant, mainly for the following three factors. First, during intermittent operation in winter, the circulating water without heat will freeze; second, in icy areas or when the circulating pipeline is long or far, because the circulating water dissipates heat faster, freezing will occur in the pipeline; third, The circulating water cooled by the cooling tower will freeze in this section of the pipeline returning to the hot zone due to the low ambient temperature. After the circulating water in the closed pipeline freezes, it will cause the pipeline to freeze and crack. Even if the pipeline is not frozen, it will affect the normal operation of the power plant. Generally, the pipe length of this cooling water system is not too long, which is attributed to short-distance heat preservation. In addition, only for the antifreeze effect, the temperature requirement is not high. Therefore, it is recommended to use a self-limiting temperature electric heating cable. This kind of electric heating cable can automatically adjust the temperature, and when there is no fixed temperature control request, the temperature controller or temperature control box can not be used.
The purpose of electric tracing for the cooling water system of the power plant is to prevent the circulating water in the pipeline from freezing after cooling in a low temperature environment. It effectively solves the problem of antifreeze and heat preservation of cooling water pipes, and provides a safe and reliable operation guarantee for the power plant in winter.
