The thermal conductivity of iron is 60 W/m.K, and the thermal conductivity of aluminum is 230 W/m.K; aluminum alloy is the data of alloy plate with that metal.
Aluminum's heat conduction is definitely much better than iron's.
If it is only qualitative, a simple method can be put on the heating platform and feel it by hand.
