The constant temperature heating characteristics of the heating PTC thermistor are determined by the material characteristics. The principle is that when the PTC thermistor is powered on, the temperature of the component body will rise due to self-heating, the resistance value enters the jump zone, and the current drops rapidly, so the surface temperature of the heated PTC thermistor continues to maintain a constant value. This temperature is only related to the Curie temperature of the PTC thermistor and the applied voltage, and has nothing to do with the ambient temperature.


PTC heater is a heating device designed with heating characteristics of PTC thermistor. In small and medium-power heating places, PTC heating has the incomparable advantages of traditional heating elements such as heat generation, no open flame, high heat conversion rate, minimal influence on the power supply voltage, and long natural life. The application in electric heating appliances is increasingly encountered The likes of R&D engineers.


The heating PTC thermistor can be made into a variety of shapes and structures and different specifications, the common ones are wafer shape, rectangle, strip shape, ring and honeycomb porous shape. Combining the above-mentioned PTC heating elements and metal components can form high-power PTC heaters in various ways.

1) The heating power increases from large to small after power-on, and finally stabilizes. The stable power is related to the operating conditions. For the same PTC heater with different operating conditions, the power may differ several times. The faster the heat dissipation, the higher the stable power; the higher the surface temperature of the PTC, the higher the power.


2) The surface temperature of the PTC heating element is controlled by the PTC itself, or it can be controlled by disconnecting the circuit, but the surface temperature cannot be controlled by regulating the voltage.


3) PTC itself is highly reliable and has a long lifespan, but assuming improper assembly, the product will show unstable power and temperature.


4) When multiple PTCs are used together, they should be connected in parallel, not in series

The PTC heater has the characteristics of automatic constant temperature, does not require a temperature control system, and is the central element of all PTC heaters.


There are four kinds of electrodes for customers to choose: electroless nickel + silver, melt-blown metal aluminum, printed aluminum + silver, printed aluminum.


Different from products using mains voltage, when the operating voltage changes by more than 25%, the surface temperature of products using low voltage changes significantly.
