PTC heater working principle and use precautions
First, the working principle of PTC heater
PTC heaters work by using an alternating magnetic field to mount a lower coil with more turns and a secondary coil with fewer turns on the same core. The voltage ratio of input to output is equal to the ratio of the number of turns of the coil, while the energy connection does not change. Therefore, the secondary coil generates a large current under the premise of low voltage. In the case of induction heaters, the bearing is a secondary coil with a short circuit and a single turn, and a large current is passed under the premise of a lower exchange voltage, so that a very large amount of heat occurs. The heater itself and the yoke are connected to room temperature. Since this heating technique induces an electric current, the bearing is magnetized.
The tension is to ensure that the bearing is demagnetized backwards so that it does not attract metal chips during manoeuvring. FAG induction heaters have automatic demagnetization. It is to exercise the eddy current of the metal in the alternating magnetic field and make itself feverish, usually used in metal thermal disposal and other aspects. The reason is that when thick metals are in an alternating magnetic field, current occurs due to signs of electromagnetic induction. After the thicker metal generates current, the current will form a spiral-shaped movable gate in the metal, so that the heat generated by the current activity is absorbed by the metal itself, which will cause the metal to heat up very quickly.
The equipment is a kind of fuel oil pre-heating or secondary heating energy-saving equipment, it is installed before incineration equipment, to achieve the heating of fuel oil before incineration, so that it can reach the density of low falling fuel oil at high temperature (105 °C-150 °C), promote full atomization incineration and other benefits, and ultimately achieve the purpose of saving power. It is widely used in heavy oil, asphalt, clean oil and other fuel oil pre-heating or secondary heating places.
2. Precautions during use
1. The electric heating element is allowed to work under the following premises:
a. The relative humidity of the air is not more than 95%, and there is no explosive and aggressive gas. (except explosion-proof PTC heaters)
b. The working voltage should not be greater than 1.1 times of the rated value, and the shell should be effectively grounded.
C. Insulation resistance≥ 1MΩ dielectric strength: 2KV/1min.
2. The electric heating tube should be well positioned and fixed, and the effective fever area must be immersed in liquid or metal solid, and empty burning is strictly prohibited.
When it is found that there is scale or carbonization on the surface of the pipe body, it should be cleaned and reused in time to avoid affecting heat dissipation and shortening the service life.
3. When heating fusible metals or solid nitrates, alkali, asphalt, paraffin, etc., the use voltage should be lowered first, and only after the medium is melted can it rise to the rated voltage.
4. When heating the air, the components should be interspersed with uniform and separate columns, so that the components have a good heat dissipation premise, so that the flowing air can be fully heated.
5. Safety measures should be considered when heating nitrate to prevent explosion chaos.
6. The wiring surface should be placed on the surface of the insulation layer to avoid contact with corrosive, explosive media and water; The lead wire should be able to do so
