Everyone knows that many of the small appliances we use daily have a certain temperature when working, such as hair dryers, heaters, electric irons, etc., in fact, many of them have PTC heaters, so what is a PTC heater, what is the principle of PTC heaters? Let's find out:

What is a PTC heater?
As a new thermistor material, PTC's main uses can be divided into two categories: switching and heating. The use of PTC material has the switching characteristics of heat sensitivity, current limit, delay, etc., and the characteristics of no contact, no noise and long service life, and can be applied to refrigerator starting, motor transformer protection, program-controlled switch protection and mosquito repellent, curling hair iron, electric iron and other small household appliances. Using the characteristics of stable performance, rapid temperature rise, and little influence of power supply voltage fluctuation, various heater products made of heat-generating PTC have become the most ideal alternative to metal resistance wire heating materials. At present, it has been widely used in heaters, dryers, air curtains, air conditioners, etc.
PTC heater principle:
PTC type ceramic heater is composed of PTC ceramic heating component and corrugated aluminum strip by high-temperature gluing. This type of PTC heater has the advantages of small thermal resistance and high heat exchange efficiency, and is an automatic constant temperature and power-saving electric heater. One of its outstanding features lies in the safety performance, and in any application, the surface "redness" phenomenon of electric heating tube heaters will not occur, resulting in scalds, fires and other safety hazards.
