1. Direct heating principle: the sun shines on the vacuum tube collector or flat plate collector, and its selective absorption coating absorbs the solar energy and directly heats the water in the tube, and the temperature of the water in the tube rises, and the density of the water changes. Due to the high density of cold water and the small density of hot water, the effect of natural convection circulation of cold and hot water is formed, so as to gradually heat the water in the tank.

2. Indirect heating principle: the sun shines on the heat pipe collector or flat plate collector, and the low boiling point working fluid inside the heat pipe of the heat pipe collector or the heat absorber plate of the flat plate collector changes phase, quickly moves to the colder end inside the water tank, and transfers the heat to the water in the tank and condenses rapidly, and the condensed working fluid flows along the inner wall of the heat pipe or heat absorbing plate to the bottom, and so on, the water in the tank is gradually heated.
